Dharuhera Area in Rewari of Haryana, India. Dharuhera comes under the Ambala division of Haryana. It was under the Mewar kings of Rajasthan and was a well-established town.

Dharuhera is well connected to all major places in India through National and State Highways and Railways.

Dharuhera is located at 35.79 Latitude and 83.76 Longitude, approximately 250 km from Delhi. Dharuhera is about 96 km from Jhajjar.

Farmer Contribution-

Dharuhera’s economy is dominated by farming. There is a large number of farmers cultivating vegetables and fruits in the area around the Govardhan river. The Govardhan river is the sole source of water for agricultural irrigation in the area.

Festival-

Dharuhera is locally known as the place of the festival. Every year, the Ghasil procession takes place, with people coming from different areas of Haryana and neighboring states of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.

Raje ki Baoli is a temple in Dharuhera which belongs to the Mewar Kingdom. Its annual fair is celebrated for ten days in the month of Jyeshta. 

There is a big fair here which is held twice a year for ten days, mostly in April and May. This is the source of the river Kamal Beel.

On each day, a fair is organized and different kinds of crafts and gifts are sold on it.

These include: Major Govardhan region festivals include “Bajre Diwali” celebrated during “Sankranti” every year, “Javaid Mela”, “Bhuvaneshvari Mela” and “Makar Saal”.

The night before the “Rakshabandhan”, the day of Raksha Bandhan, the “Dussehra Mela”, and the “Chhath Puja Mela” are also very popular.

It is a Muslim city and also home to the temple of the Goddess Jhulelal (a festival which falls on 31 August every year), the famous Kasauti.

Historical Place-

This is one of the ancient and historical megalithic sites of India.

Dhaula Khad is a significant place to visit in Dharuhera. This large area, where the Govardhan river meanders, contains many monuments and forts.

Historical remains here include the ancient town of Dharuhera, the original site of the Dhaula Khad. This temple was built by king Jyeshtha, it is located at the west of the Govardhan river.

The monuments in this temple are much larger than the temples of the same era and the surrounding areas.

This temple is also considered as one of the sites of ancient India and is believed to be more than 10,000 years old.

The famous Jagir of Chuharpur is situated here.

Dharuhera is also known as the “Temple City of India” due to the presence of many ancient temples and other historical places.

Dharuhera has also two old temples namely a Shiv temple and a Hanuman temple.
